The APO 63th Governing Body Meeting (GBM) was held on 8-9 June 2021 virtually with presence of APO Directors and their advisers from member countries.
The mail agenda of this meeting concentrated as following:
-Election of APO Chair and Vice Chairs for 2021–2022
-Annual Report of the Secretary-General
-Report of the 61st Workshop Meeting of Heads of NPOs to the Governing Body
-Approving the financial report for the year 2020 and annual budget for 2022
-Assigning the financial auditor for 2021
-Report of the APO Roadmap 2020
-Report the process of implementing of the APO Vision 2025 Outreach Program
-Technical working group reports on Participating Country Expenses and Center of Excellence
-APO Regional and National Awards 2021
-Membership Contribution Formula
Present and approve the TOKYO Statement on Centrality of Productivity
Approving the change of 26 project modality from face-to-face to virtual modality due to continuity of COVID-19 disease was another agenda of this meeting. The member countries present their policy statements on Accelerating and Expanding Digital Capability in their respected countries during t eh second day of the meeting.
Fatemeh Pahlevani, APO Director for I.R. Iran and NPO of I.R. Iran Head, attended the meeting together with her two advisors, Dr. Alireza Farzin, Director for Head office, Public Relations and International Affairs and Ms. Mitra Alipour, Division Head for International Affairs and APO Liaison Officer for I.R. Iran.
While she addressed the performance report of the NPO of I.R. Iran and its approach over the next three years as well as development initiatives for this issue, she recommended developing cooperation between member countries included increasing the number of multi-country joint programs and establishing regional cooperation offices, given the geographical and political differences in Asia to the secretariat and member countries.
In line with the APO Green Productivity Development Program ( GP 2.0) aiming the reassessment of the member countries, updating tools, techniques, methodologies and consulting services in the field of green productivity, she emphasized on Iran's readiness to cooperate on this program and displayed the interest of I.R. Iran to join the related technical working group.
